If this occurs, then the following solution:
Start Regedit (Start - Run - "Regedit")
Then this folder:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \ (4 D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318)
Key in this folder is the key UpperFilters LowerFilters and delete it.
If only one key is registered then just delete one.
System and then restart the drives are back.
