hallo, ich habe seit ca. 3 Monate auch änlichech Problem. habe schon alles probiert, jedoch zweifele ich schon dass es überhaupt eine Lösung gibt. ich würde mich SEHR FREUEN wenn jemand hier helfen kann.

Das System schläft einfach nach unbestimmte Zeit ein, egal ob ich was mache oder nicht oder bei leerlauf. ich kann leider nicht bestimmen ob es an bestimmte Software oder Programme liegt, denn passiert immer wieder bei verschiedenen Programme. (meistens wenn ich Skype oder SeaMonkey verwende , aber auch nicht nur dann)

Das System ist mit openSUSE (suse 10.2) , ganz neuer Sony VAIO Laptop VGN-N11S/W.

Natürlich dachte ich mir erst , dass es an ACPI liegt und habe es aus den Runlevel (2,3,5 ) entfernt. Habe ganz ohne Powersafe , später auch mit APMD und was weis ich noch getestet.
Also Ergebnis gleich NULL ;(

Nun weis ich leider nicht was noch sein könte, ich habe eine Ganze Menge überflüssige Programme entfernt und es passiert immer noch . Manchmal arbeite  ich 12-13 Stunden ohne Probleme, manchmal Stürz die Kiste 5-6 mal pro Stunde.

Es passiert auch , wenn ich die kiste im leerlauf lasse und sich der Display ausschaltet, dann wir die SELTEN wach. Meist passiert nichts  und ich muss reseten .

der Bootvorgang ist perfekt , dauert keine 30 sek., alles wird erkannt und angeblich gibt es KEINE Probleme !

Eine Idee?

Schau mal in /var/log/messages nach Fehlern.

Hatte auch das ganze System upgedated. Trotzdem trat heute Morgen wieder der Freeze ein. Hab jetzt den Kernel auf 2.6.18.2-34-default downgegraded und hoffe mal, dass das Problem jetzt nicht mehr existent ist. Werde Morgen mal berichten, ob mein Rechner wieder gefreezt ist

Zum einen solltest du die Updates installiert haben, besonders den neuesten Kernel. Dann sagt dir die Suse schon, wo es klemmt

Use SUSPEND2RAM_FORCE=yes to override this detection.

Beutet soviel wie mit einem Editor die Energiesparfunktionen anzupassen. Die findest du im Verzeichnis /etc/pm/config Parameter:
S2RAM_OPTS=""
Die Hinweise dazu: beachte den Link in der Konfigurationsdatei.

Bei einem Sony Vaio solltest du auch das Paket spicctrl per yast nachinstallieren. Die Sonyfunktionen konfigurierst du im Kontrollzentrum-> ( Desktop konfigurieren, Persönliche Einstellungen ) Systemverwaltung ->Sony Vaio Notebook. ( KDE DESKTOP )

bei mir hat es mit: s2ram -f funktioniert, also habe ich -f  in /etc/pm/config
wie folgt eingetragen:
S2RAM_OPTS="-f"

ist dies korrekt?

suspend to RAM funktioniert über konsole und KDE damit einwandfrei, jedoch suspend to DISC nicht (rechner wird nicht wach) , was aber egal ist, denn ich habe die Funktion (suspend to Disc) ausgeschaltet.

Soll das wirklich meine lösung dein ), mal sehen ob der rechner nun abstürzt...

einen dicken DANK an dr. Suse & Co , ich denke das Problem wurde gelöst  der rechner läuft schon 36 Stunden ohne Abstürz )

Wahrscheinlich lag es wirklich daran. Ich habe zwar komische Sound-Effekte nach aufwachen (suspend to Ram) was aber wirklich nicht schlimm ist. Vielleicht geht das beim nächsten UPDATE auch weg .

-f ist schon der richtige Parameter. Gibt aber noch ein paar mehr. Kommt auch auf die Grafikkarte an.

Nvidia:

-f  wie Du es eingestellt hat

Intel Graphics Chipsets

-f -a3", even when using vesafb framebuffer. If " -f -a3" does not work (for example on Dell machines), often " -f -p -m" works well.

Newer intel Xorg drivers seem to have problems with "-s" (VBE_SAVE), so "-m" (VBE_MODE) should be used if at all possible with them.

ATI Graphics Chipsets

Lately many machines i came across with ATI Radeon graphics chipsets did not work with any framebuffer (usually they hung inside the BIOS, not even capslock did work after trying to resume). They often worked fine with "vga=0" and " -f -p -m" or " -f -p -s".

For Problems with s2ram wakeup with the fglrx-driver 8.32.xx please get an update to 8.34.xx

leider ist das Problem wieder aufgetreten, zwar nicht so oft jedoch Heute 2 mal während ich per Skype tel. habe. der rechner bleibt einfach stehen und ich kann nur die Maus bewegen. Was kann es denn noch sein? muss ich noch was bei Sony vaio beachten, oder mal abwarten bis das Suse-Kernel-Team einen Sony Vaio bekommen hat )) .

habe schon alles probiert und nachinstalliert. S2ram ist  nun auch OK! Der abstürzt kommt jetzt zwar selten , jedoch sehr unangenehm  wenn ich gerade eine mail beantworte. Bitte um Hilfe und Rückmeldung.

PS.. leider verraten die Logs auch nicht viel.- angeblich alles OK!

prüfe mal ob du das neueste Skype paket installiert hast. Scheint ja der Kandidat zu sein, der das System runter zieht. Bis die Frage geklärt ist, einfach Skype beenden wenn du andere Sachen machst. Bei Skype bist du leider auf das Skypepaket festgenagelt. Für SIP gibt es etliche Client-Alternativen. Wenn Du nicht wissen solltest was das SIP - Protokoll ist, ist das, was alle Telefongesellschaften weltweit für VOIP benutzen. Skype ist eine Insellösung eines einzelnen Anbieters. Vorteil von SIP, wesentlich mehr Nutzer mit denen Du kostenlos weltweit telefonieren kannst, günstiger in den Tarifen und es gibt auch ein Haufen Hardware dafür,von Fitzbox bis xxx,  so dass Du nicht an den Rechner gebunden bist um per VOIP zu telefonieren. Habe selbst das Siemens Gigaset 450 IP im Gebrauch. Nur mal so zur Info.

ja ist das neueste Skype paket! aber Skype ist mir nicht so wichtig , kann ich solange verzichten.

Fürs tel. verwende ich normalerweise Twinkle (SIP) zum chaten kann ich ja weiterhin Kopete nutzen.

an skype liegt es wahrscheinlich nicht. habe die tage ohne Skype gesurft und trotzdem min. 2 abstürze am tag erlebt.

Hi,

woran kann denn liegen?
vielleicht kommt Suse mit Dynamische CPU Leistung nicht klar?! Kann der Dual Core und dynamische CPU frequenz der grund dafür sein?

Ich weis wirklich nicht mehr was ich noch ausschalten kann , fast alle überflüssige Progs. sind aus.
